Civil Engineering is very essential to the planning, designing, and construction of all types of infrastructures. This is because civil engineering focuses on the public and environmental health of the surrounds of where the infrastructure will be constructed. They deal with important issues like air pollution, groundwater and waste disposal, and flooding and erosion issues that could arise from construction in a particular area or with particular materials. At the University of South Alabama, the Civil Engineering department has been training their students not only the career of being a Civil Engineer, but showing they have been proactively involved with real life situations happening in their community.
