Show 117 – Game Wardens / Park Rangers | Bass Pro Shop

/ Game Wardens / Park Rangers / Bass Pro Shop /

Alabama is home to some of the most beautiful forests, lakes, and streams in the country. 95% of the forests in Alabama are privately owned are privately own with the remaining 5% belonging to the State of Alabama and Government. In addition to being Alabama’s Number One Industry, these forests, lakes, and streams, also provide habitats for wildlife and are also a source of recreation for Alabamians such as camping, hiking, fishing and hunting. Although much of Alabama’s forest are wild and untamed there is a need for policing.

On the Job, caught up with Conservation Enforcement Officers (Game Wardens) in Autauga and Elmore County, to check out what being a game warden was all about. We also had the chance to spend some time with Land Conservation Enforcement Officers (Park Rangers) at Alabama’s breathtaking Cheaha State Park, in Delta, Alabama.

To top it all off, On The Job goes to Prattville, Alabama, home to one of the elite outdoor retail stores in the country, The Bass Pro Shop. We stopped by the Bass Pro Shop to get an in-depth look at this empire of an outdoor haven.

So, if you’re not the 8-5 suit and tie type of person, and love the idea of the great outdoors being your office, then this episode is the one for you!
